…The Times of Your Life, Beautifully Preserved

Author: Mary Angelini Photography

Art and nature have always been a big part of my life. For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to immersing myself in the outdoors and all that it has to offer then express that wonder and awe through my art. My collections represent a deep longing for a less cluttered existence. It is as much an exploration to find pre-industrialized landscapes where the harmony and equilibrium of nature are celebrated as it is a study of the spatial relationships of structures to on another in nature. My art is intended to memorialize moments in time and to inspire the viewer to revere and hold precious the subjects I photograph. I want to arouse a heightened desire to preserve natural spaces in a meaningful way or to provide the seed from which a memory can blossom. Memories of a time they felt close to nature in a similar place. Through my photography my ultimate goal is to compose a body of work that, as I reflect upon it, will transport me to the incredible places I have been, the miraculous wonders I have seen and experiences with which I have been blessed, along the way sharing the world as I have seen it, as it has unfolded before me.

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.” ― Ansel Adams

"My tire program is summed up in one word: life. I expect to photograph anything suggested by that word which appeals to me." - Edward Weston

"There is a pleasure in the woods;
There is a rapture on the lonely shore;
There is society, where none intrudes;
By the deep sea, and music in its roar;
I love not man the less, but Nature more..." - Lord Byron
